It taken a little while to put these together using a program called ‘Sibelius’ that on the whole works really well but has taken a little bit of learning and experimentation to get good results. I’m very happy with the way the pieces look and also pleased with the look and feel of the final product – the printing, paper stock and cover images all work nicely together.
If you are thinking of playing these pieces I would estimate that the level of difficulty is roughly equivalent to ABRSM Grade 5 or 6.
The book containing all four pieces from the EP is priced at £12.50 plus p&p.
I recorded a demo track of a new piece here in the studio earlier today and thought it turned out quite well so I thought i would post it on here.
The piece is entitled ‘Tenerezza’
I shall be recording tracks for my forthcoming album next week with a view to releasing the album on May 19th to coincide with the Late Shows event here in Newcastle, where I shall once again be performing my Pitch Black Piano concerts.
Back into the studio today after an enjoyable festive break. I’m currently working on preparing library tracks for submission, some library track admin (boring but necessary), editing scores for my forthcoming solo piano sheet music collection and listening to some great work from my friends Sam and Dan Burt who have made this fine collection of trailer music. https://soundcloud.com/borderscout/sets/redcola
The playing and recording of the next solo piano record will have to be put on hold for a while as a result of a fracture of my left thumb sustained whilst stalling my motorbike at the petrol station before Christmas. No boogie woogie for a while…what a dafty!
This is a video of the title track of the forthcoming solo piano EP ‘Home’ which is set for its official release on Friday 13th May. I’m not superstitious.
This is the take that made it onto the final record.
I hope you enjoy it.
